Hello I’m new at this forum stuff. But I have a problem with my 1986 B150 van. When it is cold it starts and idles high like normal and after a few minutes it will idle at normal low level. Then when I start driving it, it starts to cut out so I step on the pedal and it revs high and goes then I come to slow up it wants to cut out. If it does it won’t start until it cools off. I recently put in new coil, distributor cap, rotor cap, and new wires to all spark plugs. When the engine cuts off I have taken the cover off the engine and touch the coil and it is super hot. When the engine dies and the key is still on I hear a arching at the coil. I have found that the negative wire (black/yellow) is the one causing the arch. When the key is turned off there is no arching. Does anyone know the solution to this problem.
