Default Control arm differences

I mistakenly bought a new control arm with ball joint rated for a 3500lb axle and I have a 4000lb axle. Anyone know the difference between the two? Dimensions seem the same. Different ball joint? Bushings?

thanks. pete

I'm looking for the same info. My sticker on the door jam says 3500 lb front axel. The 4000 lb control arms online all show four holes where the strut bar mounts as opposed to the 3500 ones which show two holes. My current arms on the van have four holes so I'm gonna go with the four hole arms (4000) and cross fingers they match. I think the difference is the ball joint size but won't really know if I have the right one till I have them side by side to compare. Not going to start buying parts till next week or so, so if anyone have any advice I'd love to hear it...

If i recall correctly, yes the ball joint is a different size. I believe the 4000 is a 1/16th of an inch larger.
