Default Need a source for a clockspring,,,

Hi guys, I have a 97 B3500 with cruise, and need to replace my air bag clockspring, was hoping to go with OEM,, but no luck, dealer said it’s been discontinued, and his computer shows not even one in North America, does anybody have any sources or ideas where I might be able to purchase one, I’ve heard there are aftermarket ones, I think Dorman makes one, but reviews haven’t been very positive on those units, the Mopar part # is 56020651, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again,,,take care,,,,

Just IMO Id get the Dorman...then keep searching for an OEM - either nicely used or new as a backup.
I have a Dorman in my 03 and it has worked for years now.

Wow, I’m really having no luck with this part, I contacted Dorman, and they also stopped making the clockspring years ago,,,So I think it will be a day at the wreckers, trying to find a used one,,,,,,there’s a guy on eBay that said he has one for me, even though the mopar part# is different,,,I am kind of weary of buying something with a a different #, any ideas?,,,,,,let me know if you have any chance of helping me find one,,,thanks again,,,,,

okay. I think Ive exhausted all avenues trying to find this clockspring part, Mopar stopped making it in 2008, Dorman sais it never carried this part for this van, and there isn't even one scrap yard that I contacted even has this van in their scrap yard,,,Ive been on the internet for almost 2 wekks now, and not even close, found a few on ebay that claim to cross reference to my vehicle, but the part # isn't even close,,,,I think my only avenue is to check weekly for somebody somewhere that's parting out their van, and see if I can get the clockspring that way,,,,I don't know if anybody else out there has run into this issue, but its no fun when you cant find a part you know you need,,,,,anyways,If I find anything I will let you know,,,take care,,,,,

You need to just call every salvage yard in your area. I did here and was surprised that I found several vans. It will be a search and you will need to look up to 100 miles away, but you will find something.

out of luck again, the ones I called on are not equipped with cruise control, just cant win on this, this is a crazy question, but I can easily find the part for a 97 dodge ram 3500 truck, do you think theres a chance I could cross to a different part # from the same year, or near make and model, I also found one for a 97 B1500 van, wouldn't that be really close, Its a different part #, but the connectors look the same,,,just trying to think of something different to fix this problem,,,,,

Have you tried comparing the part number to the '98 or '99, VAN year models as well? I'd think they'd be the same? I've seen there are changes of some certain parts for our vans after '99 but wouldn't hurt to check the 2000-2004 either just to see...?
