1996 Dodge 2500 Van: Help me identify this part
1996 Dodge 2500 2WD Conversion Van: This part is located on the firewall, has 4 male connectors for thin vacuum lines. The vacuum lines have become brittle and have broken off. Can you help me identify this part, what it's connected to inside the cab and what it would be connected to in the engine compartment. Maybe a schematic. Thanks in advance for your help. Andy

I believe that's what it might be and would like to know what it's intended to connected to inside the engine compartment and if each of the male connecters are intended to connect to a specific device or can I take any of the 4 and connect it to any of the 4 intended points of contact?
Thanks for your reply.

It controls the vents if I remember correctly. They have specific places to draw vacuum. It's what moves the vent servos to send air to the floor or windshield or somewhere else. They get old and brittle and fall apart. I had a Mercedes 380SL that had a vacuum controlled computer. Every now and then, the line would break and it would run terrible. A few years after mine was built, they went all electronic. I was constantly chasing trouble with that system. Yours is a breeze by comparison. just track down the hoses and see which one fell apart.
