93 B150 Weird shifting behavior.......
My daily driver is a 93 B150. The van has been babied since new by the original owner and then by me. I've had transmission issues for awhile now and last week bit the bullet and had it rebuilt. I know the rebuilder, he does the fleet work on 150 truck owned by my employer. I say that because I know he did a good job. I've been driving it a few days now and it has some odd shifting behaviors.....It shifts from first to second at about 3mph, then second to third around 10mph and immediately into fourth at around 11mph. When I slow down to stop it seems to really want to stay moving and pulls hard when I brake until it finally drops down into first gear. It runs great and if I manually shift by hand it pulls hard and shifts good and everything seems normal. At highway speeds it downshifts if I step on the gas and runs great! So, a mystery. What controls shifting at low speeds, is it entirely hydraulic or does the pcm get involved? Can it be adjusted if the arms were put back in place wrong? Appreciate any advice.
