I have a 1999 Dodge 2500 Ram Van 2WD with the 5.9L and 46re transmission. I got the P1757 code by itself shortly after buy the van. Continues to drive fine and shift fine. Took to transmission shop and was told to replace governor pressure switch and solenoid, so they did but the code came back up. Mechanic says it seems to be working fine but when trying to scan the pressure it won't send a signal back to the computer. Mechanic suggested either it was the wiring harness or it needs dodge made solenoid for it to work. I'm wondering if the kit from Oregon Performance would be good? Is it possible for it to need original dodge parts for the signal to be sent? Or is this dude just being lazy? He also suggested wiring a bypass from the governor switch directly to the computer in the van which didn't help either. Also mechanic said the computer, governor switch and the oil itself all seems fairly new. Any help would be appreciated.
