2001 - B1500 Van , does the rear wheels / axel need to be checked for alignment

 

Unless you hit a BIG pothole really hard, or you've been hit in the side, usually not. The only time a solid rear axle needs alignment is when it's crabbing to one side. If your right rear tire is farther to the right than the front one, then you do. 99.9999999% of the time, you don't.

 

I figured that, doesn't hurt to ask

 

One local alignment shop is all wheel alignment whether you need it or not. I quit going there as on my pickup it's $40 cheaper to go elsewhere.
