I have 2002 Ram van 2500. Have any of you ever replaced the neutral safety/back up light switch (the 5-pin one) on a 2000-2003 ram van?
Looks to me like you have to remove the transmission just to replace this switch!
The highlighted part in 2nd pic is impossible to access on the old part.

Not sure about the location of the switch but I would probably try to remove the transmission cross member and lower the trans just a bit if that would get it.

 

Mine's a '99, so the switch design is different, but I'm pretty sure even yours can be replaced by just dropping the pan for access to the inside. I don't think you have to completely remove the transmission.
