Blocking off the rear AC.

Blocking off the rear AC.
I have a 99 ram van 1500 with the 5.9l engine. It has a rear ac unit which doesn’t work as far as I know, but the rear air vents do blow some air when I turn it on using the front controls.
Regardless, I don’t need the rear ac. I was told that in some cases you can block off the rear ac so you aren’t wasting any cold air in the back. Does anyone know if this is tru for my vehicle and how to do it?
My goal would be to remove some of the tubing from the rear and use those areas for something else like storage, speakers and wiring for 2nd battery/solar.
Thanks, I hope I made sense.
