1998 B1500 Steering Component Upgrades?
Hey I just acquired a 1998 Mark III B1500 a month ago, and have been chasing down the dreaded steering slop. Tightening the steering box helped a lot, but my outer tie rod end just failed. After propping up the truck and rocking the tire, nearly every steering component with a bushing or bearing is wiggling.
I'd like to go ahead and replace many of those components with the beefiest ones I possibly can. I can't find any urethane bushing kits except for four wheel drive. What have you all found? Is there compatibility and crossover between other models, or possibly with the trucks?
What on earth were those engineers thinking on this design? I teach my robotics kids to keep it as SIMPLE with as few parts as possible...fewer points of failure!
Thanks!
