Mine was hanging loose from the harness off the PMC. In the manual they call in a Data Link Connector. I bought an adapter off Amazon that fits to convert it to OBD-II, but the reader I hooked up couldn't read anything but the battery voltage. Work in progress.

I'm getting a code 35 through the off/on method, trying to sort that out. Was hoping the reader would help further, but I guess while you can convert the connections, the electronics is different.

An OBD2 reader will not read OBD1, the reader has to be designed to read OBD1 for it to work. That aside, code 35 refers to a radiator cooling fan for a 2.5L engine. In all other cases it refers to the A/C relay since these vans don't have an electric fan. So, I'm not sure where you're reading it's and IAC issue.

Thank you. I found the code by turning the key on-off. One thing that is weird is that there is a slight delay between the 4th and 5th blinks.

I have the 5.2 L 318 engine. It's a conversion van on a 1994 B350 body. I have some other issues as well, so I'll start a new thread.

Also, this post is what led me to try the physical adapter with my cheap OBD2 reader. As you said - it doesn't work unless the OBD2 reader is also OBD1 compatible.
