Crankcase Breather draws Dirty Air from outside!
I was a bit disappointed to see that the Dodge engineering folks set up the crankcase breather to get its air from the UNFILTERED side of the air cleaner housing.
I can't be bothered to take a picture right now, but if you have a look at yours, you will see that you're getting dirty air introduced into your lubrication system. Think about that the next time you're following someone down a dusty road.
I put a filter on mine. Would've been nice if it were done 100,000 miles ago.

The breather doesn't draw anywhere near the volume of air the air filter does, but it dies contain a built-in filter. There is a maintenance change schedule for it, but I couldn't tell you what it is off the top of my head.
