Default what to do to long sitting van?

I am looking into purchasing a 1990 250 van. It has a 5.2 liter, carb engine. It has been sitting for 2 years in bosses lawn. they ended up with more vehicle then drivers so it got parked. What should I do to it before attempting to start or drive it? During this time it has not been run or moved at all. I plan on it needing alot of work to it. I just dont want to create extra problems buy trying to fire it up improperly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Before starting, look underneath for any obvious problems.....leaks, hanging wires, ect.

2. Make sure the battery has a full charge. Check the oil, change if needed.

3. Put some fresh gas in and see if it starts. Check for smoke from the exaust.

4. I would pull all four wheels and check all the brake pads and bleed the brakes.

5. Take it easy, check everything close prior to driving it any amount of distance.

Hope this helps.
