95 ram van 5.2 stalling
van randomly stalls when warm. runs fine until it just dies.
sometimes it restarts right away. sometimes after a few minutes.
i've tested fuel pressure before and after it's stalled and it shows fine
both tempature senders are new, along with fuel pump, filter.
i'm looking for more things to test before I chalk it up to a bad computer, because I cant afford it.
it has 140,000 miles on it. anything else I can check?
EGR valve was cause a pinging noise with engine under load, it's now blocked for testing purposes.
the van wont see the road until I can solve this stalling problem.
anything I can test with an ohm-meter or test light while it's in this no-start condition?
please help, any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Have you replaced the ballast resistor? Look on the firewall for a rectangular ceramic piece with 2 or 4 wires going to it.
Have you tested the engine coil for voltage when the key is turn on, but the enigne not running? Keep the volt meter on the colil for the time it takes the van to stall out usually. If it goes flakey with a wide range of voltages, replace it. If it's not holding 12V +/- 0.5V then replace it.
If you get nothing from it, replace it!
7 out of 10 times, these vans have coils that go out. There are better performance coils out there too.
Now, if the coil is replaced and you don't get any voltage, it is possible that the power to the coil via the pickup module inside the distributor has gone bad.
The ballast resistor is an easy thing to replace. Getting down to the pickup module isn't fun, but takes time.

how often do those coils need replacing?
sounds like a problem i'm having. read: https://dodgeforum.com/m_158236/tm.htm
this must happen a lot in ram vans, huh. i've seen a handful of threads about this here.

95's dont have balast resistor, Question is when the vehicle stalls and you crank it over, does your cluster show RPM. you may see it fluctuate just slightly, if it does not then it sounds like a crank sensor. Are you losing spark at the cylinders?
