Check the universal joints at each end. The Hayes Repair Manual for the tranny is dicent enough to help you out. The manual number is #30065.
How's the rear axle fluid? Is it full? Any signs of seal leakage on either the back plate or drivetrain seal from the drive shaft? You can check the rear axle fluid easily. Just have the front of the Ram Van on an incline and crawl under the back. Pop open the rubber seal plug and stick you finger in there. If the fluid level is at the plug, you're fine. If not, fill with 75W90.
As for the bearing at the rear of the tranny, I'm not sure since that is a Gen-1 model year.
Shalom!
