update! as I was driving today and accelerated to go uphill the motor rev up and then there was a quick grinding sound that happned three times and each time it felt like the van jerked and felt like it was going to stop on the spot. Right before that there was that pinging sound. Any ideas?

if there is a leaky plenum will the oil level drop considerably?
