The temp guage goes about 1/3 up the guage (doesn't have actual temp degree markings on it), I let it set and run for about 30 minutes and I could take the radiator cap off and it not boil over, too hot to stick your finger in, but that's about it??? Have you ever changed out a heater core on a 95 Ram Van looks very complicated???

 

Also found the air director lever and vaccum diaphram next to the passenger inner fender and it looks like it is opening and closing from what I could tell from the outside view of it I had, the lever did open and close when I turned the heat on and when I turn the system to OFF, but it still seems like it's mixing in some cold air, but hard to tell I guess until I get the core cleaned or replaced

 

I only have the Hayes Repair Manual #30065. It does show how to take the HVAC unit apart. There are things to do and not to do.

See if you can order or pickup one of these manuals BEFORE jumping into this. There is some A/C things that need to be done first before ripping into the system. [:-]

It's good to hear that the engine is not over heating.

BTW, the best Ram Vans made todate were made from 1998 and on. There was many improvements made all around. The entire HVAC system was replaced with a better one. That's the one I have in both of my Ram Vans.
