Help with Check engine light codes!!!
Ok guys i have a 1997 2500 5.9 auto obiviously with the obd1 system because i was able to pull codes from how many times my check engine light flashed. I cam up with this:
Code 12: Problem with battery connection. Direct battery input to PCM disconneted within the last 50 ignition key-on cycles.
I did take off the negative battery cable the other day to clear my check engine light so im guessing thats what this one is.
Code 43: Peak priamry circuit current not acheived with the maximum dwell time.
Does anyonw know what the heck that means!!!?
I have been having rough idle and trouble with the truck starting sometimes. It cranks over a long time sometimes before it starts. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,
Matt

Hey Matt...
Funny, but we have the same name and the same trouble lately!
It apears that early processers need time alone. By a pure fluke, it worked to our advantage, leaving the procceser diconected from any battery for about 12 hours did the trick. Huge difference, I beleave that you are experance the same ordeal we were, in addition, while the battery was not connected, we did "key on to off test, or just key on and off for a perioid, about a minute) did the trick, and the processer was able to re-lean from there on.
I don't want to lead you in any way in the incorrect direction, I'm just relaying our findings, this has happened lately 2-5 trucks in the last 3 monthes.
What exactly we found was diconect, key on and off, and we weree ready to go...
I sure hope this helps. I look fowared to any help, I would find it hard to beleave that it's just been luck!
Keep us informed.
