My XM Radio lights up that area pretty good. Mounted it opposite of the cigarrette lighter on the passenger side.

I bought some Anywhere LED's (or something like that) from Advance Auto Parts. They come as a set of 3 for $7.95. I did the same with wiring, hooking up the positive to the radio dimmer wire. I mounted 2 behind the cup holders, and 1 in the cubbyhole.
The nighttime pic doesn't do it justice. I originally went with green, to match the dash (I know, there are those that don't like the green; but I'm a die hard John Deere fan so I had to try). The green was very bright and reflected off my back window and made it hard to see out. So I switched to red.

I completed this mod on my 2005 Ram. I now have an 07. I just dont remember how I had it wired.

I seem to remember getting the power of the cig lighter or the heat/ac controls? Can someone tell me where to power in on either the cig light or the heat controls. What color wire am i looking for?

Also, I dont rememeber if the led's had a ground. I assume they do! Where did you all ground too?

Is the illumination wire on the 07 still orange/light blue stripe?

ground is ground... find a metal screw going into the firewall. I also did this mod to my '05 and works awesome... installed it right above the cup holders and put a 470 ohm or 1k ohm resistor in line with the hot side of the led...
