Ram 1500 rear end ratio decision
Hi,
I just found this site and it looks great, and seems to have a lot of people with good information. I am looking to buy a 07 ram1500, but am debating what rear end ratio to get. I live in the north east, travel between Maine and NY, so highway miles, and 2 lane roads. I do tow about half a dozen times a year, a boat about 5 miles in the summer, and my sleds in the winter. I have been thinking about getting the 3.55 ratio to help with mpg, but wondering if I will not have what I need to tow. Also with the highways around here having some hills where you go up and down, will I actually do better with the 3.92 as I won't need to give it more gas to maintain my speed with the 3.55. Hope this makes sense, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
R.J.

My 96 ram 4x4 has 3.55's and I have no problem in any of tose areas and I figured my mileage at about 19 mpg on back roads.I have no problem keeping up with interstate traffic and as a bonus I could easily eat a chevy Z71 at the 1/4 mile strip we have here and I run 33.12.50 tires.
