We use synthetic 75W-140 in all the diffs we build at work. Just regular ATF in the t-case. Transfer cases don't really do anything to demand a synthetic fluid, a waste in my opinion. I have only seen a few fail over my career with Chrysler.

I am not a big fan of sythetic trans fluid. It does have much better heat propeties which is important but it gives up quite a bit of friction modifier. Many top trans builders will not honor transmission warranties if synthetic is used. TCI and Hughes are just 2 of them.
