Wild guess, but did it sound like a slipping serpentine belt by any
chance? Other than that, check all your fluids and if it happens
again, stick your head in and see if you can't narrow down the culprit
(watch out for the fan blades<img src=smileys/smiley18.gif border="0">).

Hope you find out it's just a belt. I took my last vehicle in for a new muffler a couple of years ago.On my back to my office after picking it up from the muffler shopit was making a horrible sound when I went around corners. I turned around and headed back to the shop. They put it on the lift and the sound was made by a 4 ft. long pry bar the guy had leftin the spring when he was installing it. No damage and he was happyto have his pry bar back..... <IMG src=smileys/smiley18.gif border="0">
