Is the '03 Ram Q/C programmed topermit a self-check of the PMC codes? I know that some vehicles will provide a malfunction code after turning the ignition to "on" three times. That doesn't seem to work for my truck though. Thoughts? B.T.W. the MIL remains on after the engine starts so something is wrong.</P>

Hi Jim.

Here's a quote from another message board. I haven't tried it myself, so take with a grain of salt:

<div style="margin-left: 40px;"><font class="post" style="color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">
If your check engine light is on, just turn the truck off and then turn
the key 3 times on then off then in the odometer it will display the
code thats wrong. You then can look up the code via the internet. Just
do a google seach for dodge engine codes. Worked for me when my engine
light came on. </font>

</div>

If you try it, let us know how it works.

- Dave

Dave,</P>

Worked great!!! Thank you. The Code is P0440 (<FONT size=2>Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction). Earlier today I was using outdated information thus no code indication as expected. Your information was right on target. Once again, thank you.</FONT></P>
