Default 04 HEMI K&N Air Intake Sputter

I have a 2004 1500 HEMI and I recently installed the 77 Series Air Intake. Everything is great except for the annoying sputtering noise that I hear at certain RPM ranges. At higher RPMs I am probably not hearing it because of the increase in sound from the engine. I put the OEM back on and I can not hear it, so I went ahead and put the K&N back on. I then started thinking it was an exhaust leak so I took it to a buddy of mine that is a mechanic and that was not the case. If anyone has heard this before please let me know. K&N swears its the engine and Dodge swears its the intake. I have a Banks Monster Exhaust on the way so I will probably take it off if I can't get rid of the sputter.

Thanks,

Brian

I installed a Volant CAI on my Dodge...I hear no sputtering sounds, My friend has the K&N and his truck doesn't make any stuttering sound.. Is your truck hesitating or is if just the stuttering sound?

Just the sputtering noise, there is no hesitation at all when I press the gas.

When are you hearing this noise? Is it all the time, or just when you accelerate hard? I hear a rattly, metalish sound sometimes under WOT acceleration.
