Default Cold Start

I am having problems when first starting my 97 1500. It may just be a coincidence but the weather has recently turned cold and the problem began when this happened. The engine will turn over and start then immediately stop. After several iterations, the truck will run as long as no gas is given. Once the truck warms up some, gas can be applied to increase RPM and then the truck will run in gear. The truck is very "sluggish" for a few miles then as the temperature increases, all symptoms disappear. Can anyone suggest what to start looking at or replacing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like it is an issue with the fuel pump. I am only getting 20psi at the fuel rail and should be about 35-45 psi. Also found some oil residue at the intake valve so will replace the gasket.
