Default 5.9 missfire??????????

96 2500 ram with 5.9 v8 gas. cuts out on the topend. i have no codes or lights. this is intermintent. i put a gage on the fuel. there was very little movment stays close to 50 psi. the scanner says all 8 clyinders are missfireing when this happens. the only thing that i see different is my speedo is all over the place. i tried changing the rearend speed senser with no luck. this too is intermintent. i think it is something electrical but have no clue. don't know if the two problems are related or not. any help would be great. i drive close to 750 miles a week on intrstate when this happens i let out of the gas a little and its ok. if i stay in the gas it keeps cutting out.

Ok questions for ya on this, you say "top end", How fast are you traveling? You may just be running into your speed limiter that is pre-set in your trucks CPU.Since your not losing fuel pressure, and your not throwing any codes, this is the first thing I though when I read your post....

But then again, I am new to the Dodge ram myself, so I could be wrong......

Hello, my son has a 97 dodge dakota with the 318 5 speed, I had alot of problems with it misfireing when it was hooked to a scanner it would throw a code for crank sensor and misfire. We finaly fixed the misfiring by moving the distributor while hooked to the scanner. It has to be set exact or it will misfire so it sets exactly on zero now according to the scanner.

I use to have a 2001 Ram with the 5.9L and I have to agree that it is most likely the speed-limiter. It acts very much like a multiple missfire, should kick in around 120 mph.
