Which tranny do i have in my 98 ram 1500 4x4 auto 5.9l 360 single cab long bed. Just been looking at shift kits and thinking about getting one do they really help the slippage of the tranny and prolong the lift of it.

you have a 46re most likly. get a build sheet on the truck and it will tell you everything that came on the truck from the factory. you can get it bywalking into a dealership and giving them your vin. you can also get it online. i will get the link for ya in a few minutes.

Just fill out all the info and in a few days they will send you the build sheet on the truck. lots of helpful info in there about your truck.
