Heater core went WAY too so

Heater core went WAY too so
Hey ya'll,

Has anyone had any problems with their heater core on 02 and up rams?? My 02 has 57000 and puked antifreeze in my floorboard the other night. I think this is EXTREMELY early for that to happen. I just sold a 94 dakota with 224,000 miles and it still had the original core in it.

Another note to mention for those that tend to do work on their own rides. If you have a heater core problem on your new ram, and its not under warranty, you sure don't want to attempt this job yourself. I did, and needless to say, it's back together and going to a shop tommorrow morning. Dodge built the truck "around" the heater core!!

Wow, that is too soon, are you the original owner of this truck. You never know what the previous owner may have done to it. Anyway, have you looked into replacing it. On my F150 it only took an hour. On a old blazer S10, I could not get to it without removing the dash

Yeah, alldata, and dodge dealer list it as a 6 hour job, and man let me tell you, it's every bit of that and probably more. I took almost all of it apart, even had the complete dash half way out and decided to let someone else do it. The little extra for labor was much more worth it than the headache if I continued. The A/C even had to be discharged, evacuated, and recharged. It just wasn't worth my trouble.

I am the second owner, but what could someone do to the heater core? Only thing I could think of would be rough dirt roads, but the rest of the truck shows no signs of that. I'm hoping it's just a fluke defect on the part, and not a sign of more to come.
