4wd problems
I've tried posting this like 5 times, so if it shows up 5 times..sorry. Anyways, i tried ur guys' suggestions about getting it into 4lo and they worked perfectly, i just wasnt pushin it firm enough. But then the problems began. When in 2wd it works perfectly, and when i put it in 4wd..low or high, when i start off straight it creaks a litttttle bit, but nothing i'd think about, but then when i try to turn left or right it creaks and moans and sounds like my transmission is about to fall out the bottom of my truck. It sounds like something is rubbing hard against something else and just really gross sounds of medal grinding, and it jerks violently, like a new driver killing a manual. Ya know, when they pull up to a stop sign and forget to push the clutch in and u think ur about to get whiplash..anyone have any ideas??
Well, my buddy who knows much more about cars than i ever will told me the problem right off the bat...my own stupidity was to blame. I was putting it into 4wd on a road, and he went on to explain something about the wheels turning at the same speed, so the road doesnt allow for slippage, and throws off the gear differential and a bunch of stuff i didnt understand..so i took it out to some grassy/muddy areas, and the 4wd works flawlessly.
I get the same type deal with mine. . .nothing to worry about. Ive got a locker rear axel so even in 2wd after Ive got for a while in a straight line then make a sharp turn the rear of my truck does a little hop as the diff is unlocking.
now when I put it into 4L it's a different story. I go full lock in the back since it's electronic locker (VERY nice to have) so when I'm in 4L and turn the wheel on pavement my whole truck dances. . .kinda fun, but wears the crap out of the tires.

hrm i have the same problem with my truck, but i think 4x4 is for used off road.. and i tryed it off road with the 4x4 and i did that turn and slow, and it didnt moan as much, do u think the diffrentials lock up ?... cuz my moms dakota has 4x4 all the time and then u lock up the diff when u go 4x4 high / low lock and it does the same thing when ur on pavement
