Another MIL question
Hello everyone this is my first post so I'll try to make it a good one, I am the owner of a 03 sport extended cab 4.7 it has 43,000 miles. The other day I was driving back from a college football game ( Which we lost miserably), the MIL light came on. so I drove to the nearest autozone to use there reader. The reader came back with :
P0016 Crankshaft/Camshaft Timing Misalignment/Out-of-Sync
P0344
Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent
This doesn't look like a do it yourself fix to me. Any info or help would be appreciated,
What is involved , how much can I expect to pay etc,

easiest thing to do would be to disconnect and reseat the crank and cam sensor connectors and remember to put in some dielectric grease in there. . .you could have just gotten some moisture in the connector.
Thanks, not quite sure where the moisture would have come from as we haven't had rain in a while. I'll try that for sure. The light has since gone out. Again many thanks.

if the condition does not exist after 5 full starts of the engine the light will go out. you cannot dissconnect the battery in hopes it will go away. the ECM contains non-volitile memory that stores things like this.
Me and my big mouth, the light came back on while I was going home tonight. The idle seems to be a little off, not as smooth as it normally is. This is starting to get old. Maybe it's time to take it back to the dealer and get them to look at it. I'm really not looking forward to getting one of those high dollar bills.
Where will I find the crank and cam sensor connectors, what is the easiest way to get to them? Sorry for all the newbie questions, I'm a wood spoiler by trade. But I am willing to learn.
I had that problem with my wifescaliber it wasa bad sensor i dont know if its the same problem but if its not the connectors it might be the sensor it tookdodgean hour to fix i cant tell how much it was to fix the car was still under warranty

I had the dealer look at it, and you are right it was the sensor. Not covered by the warranty as the truck has 44k and is a 2003.
What chaps my **** is the fact that the sensor was $24.00 and the whole bill came to $204 which included a $20.00 disposal fee. On top of that oh we are sorry but your brakes need changing and the brake fluid looks dirty, also your rear end fluid needs a change.
Thanks, but I'll take care of that myself..
Incidentley the rear end fluid was changed three weeks ago. No doubt about the brake pads they told me in 2005 that they needed changing.(Do you know of any good shops around Kennesaw, Georgia. That won't try to rip off there customers)
Sorry to ramble on guys,
Thank you for all your help
