i have a 1996 dodge ram slt it came with out the rpm gauges, i bought some the rpm gauges but i havent installed them yet, i was wondering if any one knew how to install the new ones, DO you need other wires? Where do you buy them? Can you just wire it up? some one please help me

 

Why would you want more than one tachometer?

an idea and a question to 66... if his 96 came w/o a tach, could he swap the entire cluster and poof - he has a working tach without any muss, fuss, or mess ? in other words, is all the wiring and pcm stuff present and the only difference in a with-tach truck and a non-tach-truck was the cluster itself ?

if so, does he have to use a 96 cluster, or could he use a range of years ?

what other quetions/features does his 'new' cluster need to have ?
year range - 96 only or multiple.
tach included - obviously.
odometer mileage - this will become his new mileage ! not changeable !
miles/kilometers - US vs Canadian. very important - don't overlook this..
gas/diesel - ?
1500,2500,3500 - ?
auto/manual - probably doesn't matter ? (the prndl insert. he could insert his, whatever it is)

disclaimer - undisclosed tampering with odometer mileage is a crime.
also - dealer cannot/will not change the mileage for you. the only way a dealer can supply a replacement
cluster is that you buy a new one for big bucks. dealer sends certified mileage statement to chrylser.
chrysler sends programmed cluster to dealer who installs it for you. really big bucks.
having said all that, i replaced mine myself last year because my speedometer broke.
