Mud Flaps / Fenders / Fix-It Tickets
Did a search didnt find anyposts relatedto this.
Was curious how hard cops are on your guys mud flaps / fender law, for oversized tires and lifts.
The locals dont seem to care too much here in Bakersfield California other then some nastie looks from a cop or two. I got pulled over once and he let me go, hopefly that'll be the last time. I've been toldthe fenders [If you want the real nice looking ones] are 365$ online, and everyone around here seems to want an additional $400 on average to install them.
I have angle iron welded under the rearend and in the front that you cant see unless you crawl under and look, with mudflaps that can be bolted on and off with easethat extend out. So for the day I get pulled over for them I slap them on, get the ticket signed off, go home take'em offand im good. But im scared for the day I get a ticket for the fenders, I dont know any cops that'd sign it off for me, and 765$ doesnt sound fun to buy and install them, specially with the budget im on right now.
Anyway, how are locals/highway patrol with you guys on this fix-it ticket law?
Know any loop-holes around the fenders? Or possibly something cheaper?

up here in washington state, the cops really dont give a crap. my buddy has a 6" lift on 35's and about $15k in aftermarket parts on his truck and they pulled him over just to say nice truck and to look at it under the hood. i have been pulled over by the same cop (coencidence) and he was asking me alot about my truck because he was looking at buying one. but ya up here most of the cops out here have lifted trucks and they really dont give a crap.
Well, in Albany, NY if your tires stick out farther than your fenders and you don't have anything like your mud-flaps, you WILL get pulled over for it. They are big on kinda stuff here. Happened to about 3 or 4 buddies of mine that were stupid and didn't put on fender flares. As for finding cheaper fender flares, I'm not sure where you can go. You could always put them on yourself, or inlist the help of a friend or two.
Good luck to ya.

^ Idk... I like some of the flares. But they have to fit the truck. The bushwacker pocket flares fit on jeeps really well. And they look good on some chevy's too.
It's all about finding ones that look good. And if worse comes to worse, if you find ones that you like, but they arn't made for your truck, fabricate them and make them fit! That's the fun part.
