Poor MPG for 2500 after Dlr. v
Took my 03 Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi to the dealer the other day complaining about poor MPG (8 mpg average). They told me they reset the computer, other than that all checked out OK. Still get the same MPG at 2500 miles.Am I missing something or is the mileageextremely poor. I didn't expect high numbers but the MPG seems extremely low!<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">

Hi Steve.
I think this topic has been covered in previous threads, but FYI, I get
between 13-14 MPG with my '04 1500 4x4 QC. The 2500 will be a bit
heavier, but shouldn't account for 30-40% poorer gas mileage. I
also have 20" wheels and the 3.92:1 rear end, both of which are not
friends to fuel economy.
In my uneducated opinion, something's amok with your rig.

Steve, where you from. I live in the Northeast and have lost about 3 miles to the gallon warming up the truck and running the defroster constantly.

my truck gets about 10.8, i've reset the comp at 2000, im now close to
4000. at 2000 i was getting 11.4. i dont even question it though, maybe
it needs to be 'broken in' more.
