I feel like an idiot for asking this question, but this is the first truck Ive ever owned. How the hell do you get the tail light assembly out to change the bulb. Mines a 2003 if it matters. I obviously took out the two bolts that face in towards the bed, but how do you get at the other two that hold it on from the front?? Any help is much appriciated. Thanks!!

I don't know if the 3rd gen trucks are like the 2nd gens, but after you remove the two screws you just pull the light out. It's a little tough to do, because there's two ribbed plastic posts that hold the light in. Double check with someone familiar with the 3rd gens though before you go yanking on the light and break something.

ahhh, ok, that makes sense, cause if you go up from underneathe, you can feel two things sticking out on the front side, and they definately arent bolts, but I wasnt sure if they were hex heads or some sort of other strange fastener, so I didnt want to start pulling and possibly break something. Ill have to check it out in the mornin

Just give it a good pull, it'll pop out. then you have to remove the screws on the back of the light assembly that has all the light sockets in it.
