Default Shifting in cold Temps?

I need help, is it normal for the auto transmission in my Ram 1500 not to shift up in extremly cold temps? I was driving yesterday and noticed that when I was doing 100km per hour the rpms were at 3500+ when they are usually around 2000 or less. I have only had the truck for a week it is a 2001 Ram 150 Laramie Quad cab. HELLLLLLP.

Whitey01,

Question: Was the truck up to temp or was this a cold truck just
starting out. It is normal for your trany NOT to go into overdrive if
it is cold. This is to protect the trany. If the truck was at operating
temp then you may be developing a problem with trany shifting correctly.
