Default rear axle & springs

has anyone tried to use a 3/4 ton spring on a 1/2 ton ram 4x4. the truck is used for work, ride isnt a problem , the currant axle is messed up, and i was considering the switch of at least springs while the rear axle is out for repairs,

Apart from the possible ride hieght increase, and the possible arch difference I would not see why they wouldn't. If you have a half ton and put 3/4 ton springs on your truck, you still would not have the payload capacity of a 3/4 ton. Unless of course you change the axle as well.
