Hemi Oil Pressure Gague
<IMG style="WIDTH: 71px; HEIGHT: 59px" height=83 src=smileys/smiley25.gif width=93 border="0">Anybody found out why '04 Hemi's oil pressure gages only goes to the 1/2 way point on thedial? I checked 6 other hemi's on lot where I bought mine and all the same when 1st started. Hot or cold it just goes to the middle mark on gage. It's the first time I've ever encountered that. Usually whenan engine iscold the oil pressure is at it'shighest then drops as the engine gets to temp. <IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"><edited><editID>phillipb2</editID><editDate>38015.4586111111</editDate></edited>
Gee, my old GMCs ('97, '99. '00, and '01) oil pressure was always the same whether cold or hot. Same with my Ram. Maybe it has something to do with mulit-viscosity oil, and theuse ofa positive displacement oil pump.
The reason it does not move is because it is more of an idiot light than an actual guage. According to the service manual, in an effort to reduce customer inquiries about fluctuating oil pressures, Dodge set the guage to read in the middle unless the pressure drops below 6 psi, then the guage will drop to low. The needle doesn't actually move with normal pressure changes.</P>
