I'm bummed out. I'm wanting to purchase a 2 WD 1500 quad cap SWB w/ the Hemi, Laramie package, tow package, tow mirrors, 20's, and 3.92 anti-slip in white. There's not one (of any color) on the west coast w/o the sport appearance package touting body color everything. Now I'm not completly opposed to that 'clean' look, but I grew up in the 50's, 60's, and 70's (long childhood) so I gotta have chrome. It's important to for me to take advantage of the current financial incentives (0% + $2000 cash back) to make the Larimaie package do-able, so I don't want to special order.

What's a guy to do...?

How did you determine there were none on the West Coast? You can do a search of 5-Star dealers at the Dodge Web site and perhaps expand that out to say 3 or 4 hundred miles by using different zip codes. That is if you would be willing to either travel that far, or work with a local dealer who is.

If you've already gone to a dealer, and they have done an inventory search, which would include both 5-Star and non-5-Star dealers, then I'd say either go with the Sport package or back off on the Laramie and go with an SLT.

I agree with Mazz's first paragraph. Use the Dodge Web site to
browse dealer inventory within a few 100 miles of your location (or
however far you're willing to travel for your ultimate truck).
When I bought my '04 Laramie (w/sport package) here in NH, the dealer
said they did a search of the entire Eastern seaboard and couldn't find
one. After spending 15 minutes online, I found a perfect truck
and told my dealer where to go find it. The truck was less than 50 miles away at a completing dealership.

I'm not completely confident about the reliability of dealer searches.

Why not special order? The rebates are locked in, and if they go up before your truck arrives...you get those higher rebates!

I special ordered mine, and like Rc said the rebates and all are locked in. Ordering took 4 weeks to produce and one to ship.

Thanks for the response. The dealer that I was working with did a search for what they said was a 400 mile radius. Not fully trusting them, I spent hours searching via the Dodge site as far away as 1200 miles. I came to the conclusion they were right. This dealer also said that I could not lock in the rebate – that I would have to take whatever rebate was offered at the time of delivery. They also said delivery would take 8 to 12 weeks.

Well, good news! I decided to try the Costco Auto Program. They put me with a dealer that was very knowledgeable. I special ordered exactly what I wanted, with an expected 6 weeks delivery, and locked in the rebates. They even wrote it up as 0% + $2000 or $2500 + $750 unless the rebates at time of delivery are better than these. All for $200 over invoice +$50 handling fee. WOW!
