This is my first post here. I've been on the ford-trucks forum for a while because I thought I was going to get a PSD excursion. But i'm sick of hearing of all the psd problems. I want a SIMPLE engine. I had a 92ctd dually and am now in a 2000 dakota. If I don't get the SUV then I need four real doors and a long bed(single rear wheel). So here's my questions:

-What year models are available that way?
-How far do I have to go back to get rid of most the electronics (96-97?)
-How much will it cost to get the same power out of that engine as the new diesels? Twin Turbo?
-Can the auto tranny handle?
-Just out of curiousity where can i find info on stuffing the 8.3cummins into the pickup chasis?
