Life gets crazy sometimes in a ram......was out the other night...pulled too close too a curb and
see where I put the Letter A on top of the front rim? It's the lip of the rim that has a scratch on
it.
I called Dodge (near Pasadena, California) and they said that I would need to replace the whole
rim for $900 bucks. They said, anywhere else other then the lip of the rim, it could be replaced
cheaply...cause they said the chrome is a "cover".
Ok....so, with my 2003 1500 Ram still pulling it's glossy charm....anyone know of a
cheaper solution?

This is the lip of the rim which is not chrome, so the paint won't work, but thanks for that advice.
Still trying to figure out a way to remedy myself and cut the cost...but ebay may be the answer...thanks.
I talked a car dealership and they said on the lip, which is metal...they recommend a fine sand paper and softly
rub it down. I am worried about doing this but see it as a self-do-it option.

I have used a place here in San Jose a few times. It is ACKER WHEEL (800) 994-3357 or (408) 275-1218. They sell only stock wheels. They carry new and used rims. They also buy and trade so for those of you that are looking to get rid of some stock rims or are looking into upgrading to differrrent stock rims....this is the place.

what you might want to check out also, is around massachusetts, there is a place that resurfaes rims...so if you damage a rim they resurface it for you for around $200, so you dont have to do all the sandpapering and whatever else you might have to do. around here its rim pro, i believe. wherever you are, maybe you can go to your local auto superstore, like a pepboys or autozone, maybe they can hook you up with someone, unless of course your comfortable trying to fix it yourself.
