Taller Tires---Re-gearing
Howdy all,
I just Lifted my '96 Ram 4X4 3 inches, and now it looks like an elephant riding a peanut.LOL. I am considering putting on tires as large as 35/12.50. How hard is it to re-gear the front and rear end so that I'm not even slower while accelerating? What kind of $ should I expect to spend as far as parts? I have a very good friend who is a Dodge mechanic, BOO-YAH, so labor won't be too bad. Is this a major ordeal? I've heard of guys burning up their trannys by not re-gearing these 318s after going up to 35's. Any advice would be apreciated.
Thanx

We installed 4.10's on a Ram lifted rolling on 37's and it helped big time! The parts cost is the cheapest part of that job, usually the labor is what hurts. You sound like you have that covered. I am a new vendor here, and we can quote out some gears for you if you like.
Take care
