Hi! i'm looking into purchasing a Ram, upgrade from my Dakota. I'd occasionally be pulling a 18' Heavy utility trailer, pulling at times up to 10,000 lbs. Also 16' stock trailer. Is it necessary to go with the 2500 or will the 1500 be better? Thanks! btw, what are the tow ratings for the two?

 

The tow rating on my 03 Hemi 1500 is 8750 with 20" rims and 9200 with the 17" ones. Looks like your gonna be wanting a 2500 unless you do some upgrades to a 1500. The 2500's are built for your wants and that's what I'd go with.IMO.
