Hey all, Today I was talking to a friend that told me he saw some guy from Cal. that can plug in to a comptr on your vehicle and tweak it to optimum performance and anything else you prefer.... He didnt remember his name or stats, but here is the question for you all....
Isn't there anyone out there, with the comptr knowlege and savy that can tap into these chips, and readjust their performance levels to the max, and if not, then why hasn't someone in that industry done so ?? I have been told by many engineers that engines are designed from the factory to NOT perform at their best, so-as to prevent warranty problems and make the engine in a safe place (like saying half a sandwich is better than none at all)...
I have seen the comptr modules we can buy to do similar techniques, but I have also heard they dont reall do that much....
Any and ALL ideas, input, output, remarks, debates, etc... will be appreciated regarding this subject.... and I would love to hear from you all.... pros and cons......
Im old, but I still have time to learn LOL....

FROM WHAT I KNOW , WHICH MIGHT NOT BE MUCH , IF YOUR GOING TO MAKE SPECIFIC CHANGES TO A CHIP, YOU NEED TO DO IT ON A DYNO. AFTERMARKET CHIPS RAISE ENGINE SPECS TO INCREASE PERFOMANCE, BUT THEY STAY IN THOSE SAFE PARAMETERS. IF YOU MAKE A CHANGE WITHOUT KNOWING THE RESULT , YOUR PERFORMANCE COULD GET WORSE. PEOPLE WHO DO CHANGES EITHER MADE THEM WITH A DYNO AND LOGGED THE RESULTS, OR THEY DID IT THRU TRIAL AND ERROR WITHOUT ONE.

 

Thanks for the imput... since I wrote this I ahve done some research anmd found that all is available is the superchips, and hypertech...and aparently Hypretech is in development for the 04, to have it work with the tranny adjustments also.... I guess this concept is still new enuff and much has to be done in research first..... I just hope im alive before this stuff comes to fluition, lol.....
