OK all you Ram experts out there, I have a question for you. I have a 2008 Ram with the Hemi in it. Something flew up from the road and damaged a canister of some kind and part of the wiring harness. The canister is black and right beside the gas tank, there is a black and a purple/white stripe wire plugged into it. I fixed the harness and have made a temp fix to the canister. What is the canister actually called so I can order a new one? Thanks for all your help

 

Sounds like the Carbon filled canister for the fuel tank venting.

 

Just tell them the fuel evaporator canister, they'll know what you mean. There's only one canister in these vehicles.

 

Thanks, I went and ordered a new one, $179!!! beats the $585 they want for parts and labor to do it. I appreciate the help.
