Ok, heres my problem. I have a 2005 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, and Im trying to get an aftermarket deck into it. When I put the new deck in though there is no sound from the speakers, i found out that the wires on the harness for a 2005 1500 Ram doesn't really match up to the wires in the truck because theres an external amp behind the glove compartment. Im pretty sure the audio system in the Rumble Bee is the same as any Ram with the 7 speaker sound system. I've heard of people putting aftermarket decks into these trucks before, so does anyone know how? i know you have to bypass the amp some how, but i don't know how, or which wires are which on the amp to do it! some one PLEASE help me!

 

The '05 requires the computer bus to turn the amp on. So, since you are putting an aftermarket head unit in, the computer bus does not turn the amp on. You pretty much have to do a rewire on the entire system, bypassing the amp (which means just leaving it where it is and forgetting it's there), run new wires to new speakers.

 

hrm... you need to buy a harness which pluggs directly into the stock plug and then plugs into your aftermarket deck...

its like 50 bucks or so.. and i think you might need to also buy a Deck adapter so your .. rectangular deck will fit in the big oval shaped hole..

I am sure that if you call a stero shop they will have an adapter for the stock wires and amp.
