my 4 wheel drive won't disengage without having to pull over an go in reverse. any suggestions???

sorry bout that, 2001 dodge ram quad cab1500,with the 360. ok here's the problem, i'm going down the road in 4 wheel put it into 2 wheel and nothing, i let off the gas still nothing, i stop, still nothing. when i back up it kicks out, why????? 4 wheel shifter is on the floor. any help would be greatly appreciated, it's still under warranty, i bought it used.

 

haven't had this problem personally, but may I suggest posting this question and or searching the pavementsucks.com website.
