Dodge 2001 5.9L 4x4 bought used with 31,000. Today has 86,000. Recently had an idle increase, 300 to 500 rpm. Truck would also stall when shifting into drive or reverse. Also at 50mph and above, rpm would increase 200 to 400. With cruise control on it would also do the same thing and sometimes even worse. Dealer replaced plugs, wires, rotor and cap. Problem still persisted. Dealer replaced intake manifold pan gasket. After $800 problem still there. Latest from dealer is possible torque converter$$ Looked at other messages and there is mention of throttle position sensor. Help!

 

take it to another dealer. the place your going to is a parts swapper with you flipping the bill. bad mojo there

the TPS migh be an issue, but when I first read the post the torque converter also came to mind
