timing chain

HI i have a 1989 dodge ram50 mini pickup 2.6L 4 cylinder how can i tell if my timing chain is no good truck turns over but will not start everything else checks ok thanks for any help Dan

Hi,

You could put the engine to TDC and look at the ignition rotor, seeing if its pointing to cylinder one...

Or just take the timing cover off and try to align the timing marks.
