Need some help with my rims
Hello all. I need to get some help or info on what I can do for my rims. I have the 20 inch chrome rims on my hemi. I live in Ohio and of course the snowbelt. I cleaned my truck last night and noticed on the outer rim it appeared to be pitting surrounded by a black color. I am guessing this is from the road salt. Do any of you have any ideas on how to get rid of this? I tried chrome polish but it did not work.
Thanks for the help

ok, it's eaten through the metal which is my guess. the outer rim is not part of the "chrome plate" that is the shiny part of your RIM.
You may try to use the finest sandpaper available and lightly sand over the lip of the rim to which you are referring to.

Can't help where you drive....and not much to recommend although you might want to rub some wax around the rim edge and leave it on when you drive....apply daily...that will add a bit of barrier that is safe on the rim.
