Default Lost bolts

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 Quad cab and while changing my oil I accidently bumped one of the crossmembers right under the motor which was loose. Upon further eximination I found that I could lift it up all the way on one side and all that was holding it in place was 1 bolt on the other side. I immediatly tool it to my local Dodge dealer and they fixed the problem. 3 of 4 bolts that hold the crossmember on were missing and the fourth was backed off and ready to fall off. This does not seem like a good place to have bolts falling off. I hope that Dodge builds their vehicles better than that and this was just a fluke thing. Has anyone elde had any similar situations. Be safe and check yours to make sure.

That is messed up. Are you the original owner, if not perhaps someone was thinking of some suspension work ???

While performing a transmission oil change on my '99 5 speed trans I noticed that the mount bolts from the trans to the crossmember where loose an on the last threads. These are prevailing torque nuts which look either like they have been in a vise to close the roundness or like they have a few screwed up threads. The idea is to lock them in place so they dont back off.

After I crapped my pants and then changed my shorts, I removed cleaned and re-installed them with locktite. My advise is to do a general under body inspection on every vehicle that you own at each or every other oil change. Check for any loose parts or bolts. The car assembly line do a fair job of engineering thing not to come loose but if happens any way.
